The Valley Area Women’s Basketball Team scored a dominant 60-35 victory over Coginchaug on January 10th. Abby Bradbury had the best game of her life, scoring her 25 of her 60 points for the Warriors while making her perfect 3-3 off the free throws. line.
Lily Grow added 18 points and Regan Grow scored 6. Olivia Cunningham scored five, while Sienna Schaller, Sharmell Rivera and Elizabeth Allen each scored two.
Valley, hoping to continue their hot winning streak, faced Cromwell on the road on 12 January and won a close game by a score of 49–45.
Olivia Cunningham led the Warriors with 22 points, and Abby Bradbury added nine points for a 4-4 perfect from the free throw line. Both Sienna Schaller and Regan Grow contributed, scoring 7 and 6 points respectively. Lily Grow scored 3 points in the win and Elizabeth Allen scored 2 points.
The Warriors showed a lot of toughness and resilience in the contest as they added another win to their record.
The Valley Regionals traveled to Portland on January 14 for a meeting with the Highlanders and an impressive 88-24 win.
The game was a team effort as many different players landed on the scoreboard. Lily Grow and Abby Bradbury each scored her 19 points, followed by Olivia Cunningham with her 12 points. Regan Grow finished her double digits with her 10 points.
Elisabeth Allen scored nine points to match Sienna Schaller’s eight and Ella Martinez found a five-point basket. Sharmell Rivera scored four points and Ella Smith added two points. .
