When Shah Rukh Khan became an actor, he started in the late 80’s with TV series like Forge and Circus. Once he caught the attention of his audience, he began appearing in advertisements as well. The then-up-and-coming actor also appeared in a TV ad for his shoes, the first sport made in India. Ahead of the actor’s latest release with Pasan this week, an early ’90s ad popped up on Instagram, rekindling many fans’ nostalgia. Instagram account Bollywoodirect shared an old ad with a caption. To the song “Eye of the Tiger” from the 1982 Sylvester Stallone film Rocky III, the ad shows the actor running in his new shoes. Taking new white shoes out of the box, the actor is shown getting ready in his training gear: a headband, a blue T-his shirt, and shorts his pants.
In the ad, a young Shah Rukh appears very enthusiastic about running outdoors. The narrator calls the sports shoes his “mark of success.” Fans dropped a red heart emoji on his Instagram post in response to the nostalgic ad.
As the actor’s popularity grew, he appeared in more commercial and public service advertisements, including the famous tea ad where Prahlad Kakar earned enough money to buy a house. In a book about sports shoes, Shahrukh revealed that he didn’t really like the way he looked in ads for sports shoes.
But in his first nine years as an actor, he endorsed nearly 15 brands and appeared in over 45 TV commercials. He wrote in his book, “As a star, I believe I have opened the door for other actors to do advertising. brought.”
Shah Rukh is returning to the big screen after four years in Pattern. He was last seen in Anand L Rai’s Zero (2018) alongside co-stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pattern also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The action movie will be released on January 25th.
