Cody Brown has provided new insight into his failed marriage to Meri Brown.
And the main insight offered by 18 polygamous fathers on Sunday night’s Sister Wives Tell All Special?
This marriage was basically doomed from the beginning.
“We have a lot of history and I love him,” Meri admitted to hosting Sukanya Krishnan early on, adding of her ex-husband:
“He doesn’t love me, doesn’t want a relationship with me, and for now considers himself not married to me. So I guess that’s what we’re sitting at.” .”
Cody then noted that the estranged couple had begun polygamy at a “young age” and had to “build a family” without the means to do so.
“I married Meri and it was a difficult relationship from the beginning,” he said on air.
In Part 1 of this same special, Kodi said he no longer considered himself married to Meri…a revelation that crushed his spouse.
Cody had affair with Janelle Brown after meeting first wife, calling Janelle a ‘dilution blessing’ [because] It diluted this relationship I had with Meri.
“I was in an established relationship with someone that didn’t work out, then I brought in someone else and now it’s a love triangle,” Cody said of bringing Janelle into his relationship world. explained.
“And then we brought in Christine and it seemed to calm down.
Of course, the obvious answer to all of this might be that polygamy is a horribly unfair and sexist arrangement.
But Kody doesn’t think so. He says his marriage to Meri took a “storm” shortly after the “honeymoon period.”
Incidentally, Meri and Kody got married in 1990 and had a child, Leon Brown, in 1995.
He eventually married Janelle and Christine spiritually, marking his fourth, final, and at this point his only marriage. legal wife Robin Brown.
However, in November 2021, Christine announced she was leaving the family, returning to Utah in the process.
Since then, Janelle has also confirmed that she and Kodi have separated, but it sounds like Meri finally got the message and isn’t with Kodi at all.
Meanwhile, in the second part of this reunion, Cody said for the first time that Janelle had previously put an end to polygamy.
“The family was in a terrible situation because Janelle moved out. She’s done. She left with her mother,” he revealed.
“I didn’t feel like she was leaving me, but she left them because I couldn’t give her enough support. I could not do it.
“It put an undue strain on her life.”
