Touted as Team India’s next T20 format captain, flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya has quickly emerged as one of the best fast bowling all-rounders in modern white ball cricket. He replaced wicket-keeper hitter KL Rahul as the vice-captain of the national team and impressed all with his leadership abilities.
He recently lost his only game as T20I captain against Sri Lanka in Pune, but has remained undefeated in his six matches with the Indian team.
The 29-year-old made his debut as T20I captain in the previous year’s two-game away T20I series against Ireland, which his side won 2-0. During the series, Pandya achieved his new record by becoming the first Indian men’s team captain to pick up a wicket in T20Is.
