Tom Morello He wore dancing shoes last night for a live TV performance of Måneskin’s latest single Gossip.Rage Against the Machines Electric guitar Maverick has become a major collaborator in recent years, and his solo work includes Eddie Vedder and Bruce Springsteen onboard for the cover of AC/DChell highway.
Most recently, though, he’s visited famous six-string action on Måneskin’s new album Rush!, showing some leads with Gossip. Morello and the Italian rockers who rose to fame with high-profile supporting slots for Eurovision and The Rolling Stones took the stage at Rockefeller Center’s Studio 6B to play tracks from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Did.
This is a far cry from the hooded Morello in the orange boiler suit at Reading 2008. This was Disco Morello, rocking out riff after riff in a battle-scarred Fender Telecaster with the irrepressible Thomas Ragi.
For his part, Raggi leans on the Custom Shop ’63 Stratocaster, which he sets aside for big occasions. Usually he rocks his Squier cheap electric guitar fascination.
Gossip is an all-snobbish rhythmic track paired with single-coil fencing for a mix-dominant sound. It gives it a scratch dance feel, sustained by the propulsive rhythms of Victoria De Angelis on bass guitar and Ethan Tokio behind the drum kit.
Now, if you don’t want some anarchic pitch-shifting going on, don’t email the Morello folks and involve the greats. When it’s time to go solo, Morello doesn’t disappoint and unloads Wormy’s boots.
His first solo itself has a strange feel to it, recalling the melody of Abracadabra by the Steve Miller Band, but it could be the heat from the TV lights cooking the brain. Find him conversing with Fraggi. Both find the linga his flanca in the pentatonic.
