CNN host Don Lemon’s fashion choices enraged Tucker Carlson on Friday night. As such, the Fox News host likened Lemon’s style to self-harm.
Carlson patched up with longtime Republican and self-proclaimed fashion guru Roger Stone to vent his oddly specific fashion complaints about Lemon.
“He showed up at work the other day dressed as John Fetterman. said to open the segment while concluding that it must be a “cry for help”.
Carlson then welcomed Stone, who has a history of putting out best-dressed and worst-dressed lists each year, to comment on Lemon’s wardrobe.
“I made an international best and worst list,” Stone said. The provocateur further declared that the CNN host should be prepared to find himself on Stone’s “worst” outfit list.
“You’re right. Unless, of course, you’re running for Senator from Pennsylvania, this is dress-wrong from every point of view.
Stone then floated the theory that Lemon, who recently wore a white blazer and white T-shirt, was seeking an acting role in the remake of Miami Vice.
But Carlson needed to go one step further.
“There’s bad taste, but if you keep doing it, you’ll start hurting yourself. That’s who he is. He’s hurting himself,” the Fox News host said of Lemon’s fashion statement. (A CNN spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Beast on Friday night.)
Stone responded by calling the world of high fashion a “slippery slope” and raised the issue of another outfit from Lemmon lacking a “formal bowtie”.
“Of course, if you’re not in Bermuda, no one wears shorts or jackets. So it’s either to reach out to a new constituency or a senator’s cry for help.” Stone added.
Stone has long asserted himself as a fashion expert, but his critics claim he has no idea what he’s talking about.
Men’s fashion editor Derek Guy, who occasionally appears in The Washington Post and contributes to the fashion blog Put This On, has been unimpressed with Stone’s fashion choices over the years. But”hotel napkins,”one of his dress shirt collars”childbirth A dirty trickster should be “convicted of tampering but tapering innocent”.
Guy once put together his thoughts on Stone’s self-proclaimed fashion expertise.
“Roger Stone’s clothing is clown-ish. He claims to like classic menswear, but his actual style is adorned with too many gimmicky elements. I have written“Cutaway collars, exploding pocket squares, lapel chains, goofy glasses and more.”
