British star Phoebe Waller-Bridge is developing a series based on the hit video game tomb Raider for Amazon.
The new project will be the latest adaptation of the hit video game, following a big-screen version headlined by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.
According to the American news agency hollywood reporter, Waller-Bridge writes the script for the show. This stems from recently renewed overall deals with retail giants and streamers.

However, the actor and writer best known for her work on the multiple award-winning British series free bagdoes not appear in the program.
Jolie was the first actor to play the adventurous archaeologist Lara Croft in 2001’s. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and a sequel in 2003 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life.
The franchise was later rebooted, with Vikander playing Croft in the 2018 movie tomb RaiderA sequel was in development, but was canceled in July 2022 after MGM lost the film rights to the franchise.
The main character has been voiced in numerous video game titles by actors Camilla Luddington, Keeley Hawes, and Minnie Driver.
