New York Fashion Week runs from February 10-15, opening with Rodarte and ending in November with Lure, who was named CFDA’s 2022 Accessory Designer of the Year. Designer Thom Browne, recently appointed chairman of the CFDA, will present his Fall/Winter 2023 collection on his February 14th. This represents a homecoming of sorts for a designer who normally shows in Paris and hasn’t shown at New York Fashion Week since. To coincide with the opening of his In America: A Lexicon of Fashion exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in September 2021. Another American who has historically presented in Paris, Heron Preston will be in New York for the first time.
Missing from the preliminary schedule were Tommy Hilfiger, who made his Fashion Week comeback in September 2022, and the recently acquired Tom Ford. – related confusion. A spokesperson confirmed that the brand will release his Fall/Winter 2023 collection online. Details will be announced later. Soon-to-be New York favorite Peter Doe was also not on the schedule. The brand declined to share any further plans at this time.
The schedule includes 75 runway shows and presentations. Fashion week regulars like Altuzarra, Carolina Herrera, Gabriella Hearst, Coach, and Proenza Schouler host shows, as does downtown favorites his Eckhaus Latta, Collina Strada, and Puppets & Puppets. Elena Velez and Catherine Holstein’s Khaite, who won CFDA’s Emerging Designer of the Year and Womenswear Designer of the Year respectively last year, will also be on display. Christian Siriano’s runway show takes place before the official kick-off for the week of February 9th.
In addition to Preston, other newcomers include Kalmeyer, Kate Burton, Coltson Kukururi Shaheen, Ayama Studios, Nayeon and Jimo. New York Men’s Day is back on the first day of the calendar, with collections from A.Potts, Terry Singh and Nobis.
