Can you use glycerin soap with gourd slices inside as an exfoliant? How about a bird made out of PVC pipe? Or a garden piece of art assembled from old wine bottles and china?
If need or curiosity wins out, stop by the Grumbles House Antiques & Garden Shop in Dunnellon on January 28th from 9am to 4pm. About 20 artisans showcase their wares and skills at the Winter Makers Market.
Gainesville harpist Terry Miller will also perform from 10am to 12pm and guitarist Barry Denham from 12pm to 2pm to establish a tranquil mood for visiting craft lovers. To do.

Grumbles House owner Nancy Myers says this is the third Makers Market. They got their start when some of the craft people who rented space in a room called “Artisan Corner” at Grumbles House or were teaching classes there suggested an outdoor event.
Some of the participating artists are returning from previous Makers Markets, while others are new, Myers said.
One of the vendors is a man who makes his own marina sauce, which he invites visitors to sample along with the meatballs. Another vendor offers baked goods.
Then there’s a woman making a macrame plant hangar and another covering a rope basket with fabric.
Myers said there will be another Spring-focused Maker’s Market on March 25th.
Makers Markets isn’t the only creative outreach Grumbles House does in Dunnellon.
Myers mentioned a “Garden Groupies” event that takes place on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am. Marion County master gardeners will speak on a variety of topics at this event.
January 24th is “Camellia Gardening” and February 28th is “Spring Vegetable Garden”.
There will also be a talk on “Micro Drip Irrigation” at 10:30 am on March 4th, and a water presentation at the University of Florida’s Marion County Extension Office during Earth Week on April 19th at 10:30 am. There will be a talk by Resource Agent Gabriel Vicari. Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida.
Myers said she and her husband and co-owner, Dunnellon dentist Dr. William Dane Myers, like to host a variety of events at Grumbles House.
The Winter Makers Market is located behind Grumbles House on the lawn and in the parking lot of the Cedar Street Boutique at 11875 Cedar Street in Dunnellon. The adjacent Grumbles House, Cedar Street Boutique and Sweeties Cafe open at 10am.
