Monday night marked the season premiere America’s Got Talent: All-Star —and it’s clear that the season will be a competitive one based on the first 10 acts back to the best of the best.

A key moment came midway through the show when the Light Balance Kids took the stage to perform an eye-popping number. With this electric performance, this Ukrainian dance her group finally won her first Golden Her Buzzer Award of the season from Judge Howie Her Mandel and went straight to the finale.

Speaking to PEOPLE via email after the magical moment, Light Balance Kids Maryna Zaitseva, Mariia Honiukova and Darya Cherepakha said that winning the buzzer “represented all the horrors our country and our people are going through right now. I was able to forget the pain even for a moment,” he said.
“It was one of the greatest moments of pure joy and happiness in our lives,” the group wrote. [be] truth. ”
“Everyone was overjoyed,” they added. “Since February 24, 2022, we have all fled from war to different countries, AGT: All Stars It gave us the chance to get together again and play as a team…so happy to be back [a] Normal life, see each other and dance together again. ”

Incredibly, the group said, “When we came to the US, we only had five days to organize the whole process because we didn’t have the opportunity to prepare in Ukraine.”
“It was a big challenge, but anything is possible if you do what you love,” the group said. “Living in war is a waking nightmare. AGTMore You have energized us, given us strong positive emotions, given us hope for a better future, provided powerful support… Our mission is to bring a little more light to this world. We are here to tell people that no matter what, the light will always triumph over the dark. ”
Dance groups weren’t the only thing viewers were talking about. Monday’s episode also featured Season 2 winner and fan-favorite ventriloquist Terry Fator.

despite being one of the most successful acts ever competed AGTMore — and signed one of the biggest Las Vegas deals of all time (three separate times!) — Terry said he wants to come back to inspire a “whole new set of fans.”
Before giving performances of Andrea Bocelli’s “The Prayer,” Elton John’s “Rocket Man,” and Elton John’s “Cold Heart,” he said at the show, “We have to keep inspiring people.” That’s why I’m here.” Dua Lipa and Elton John.
Terry, 57, also spoke to PEOPLE via email about the show’s closing act, saying, “I felt at home again on stage in front of the judges.”
“The technology on stage is much bigger and better than it was when I was there 15 years ago. I had a blast,” he says. “I hope [fans] You can see how I’ve grown as an entertainer and I’m always adding new voices and new concepts to my acting. I also wanted to showcase what I do to a global audience so that I can tour abroad. ”
