January means awards season is fast approaching, with a series of glitzy red carpet events starting with the Golden Globes on January 10th.

This will be followed by the Grammy Awards (February 5th), the BAFTA Awards (February 19th) and the biggest event of the season, the Oscars, on March 12th.

With style stars like Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Brad Pitt already garnering awards buzz, we’ve got an amazing red carpet set for you – And these are the trends stylists predict will be big this season…

“Looking back at Fashion Month, we can see some obvious trends from the runways that will hit the red carpet and big events in 2023,” says personal styling and shopping platform Style Grid (stylegrid.com).

One of these trends is the fringe, Salih said.

Fringes can be customized to match the celebrity’s personal style. They can opt for a complete look (perhaps inspired by the frenzy of ’20s fashion) or add subtle accents to their gowns and suits. Either way, fringes bring a bit of fun and movement to the red carpet.

“I saw ancient Greek-inspired draped dresses on the Saint Laurent and Loewe catwalks,” explains Sally.

So, of this red carpet season, she said:

Towards the end of 2022, we saw whispers of this trend. This was especially the case with the Rodarte costume worn by Florence Pugh at the British Independent Film Awards in early December. Pugh’s look, which paired her dress with a pale pink slip, lace trim, and tulle stole, brought her boudoir to her carpet red.

We look forward to seeing more productions as we head into awards season,” said Salih.

Celebrity stylist Ryan Kay (instagram.com/ryankaystyles) says, “You can’t go wrong with a suit on the red carpet.” But what will sharp tailoring look like in 2023?

Over the past few years, ’70s style has dominated fashion – thanks to the likes of Gucci and Harry Styles – says Kay. fashion – [so] We may be transitioning into the 80’s. ”

He noted that “women’s trousers or wide flares in collars, high shoulders, or [being] Be more adventurous with color”.

This could also mean that chic hooded dresses in bold colors are big news on the red carpet. It’s inspired by Azzedine’s Alaia design from the 80’s (famously worn by Grace Jones).

Over the past few years, celebrities have been trending toward wearing vintage on the red carpet.MTV Movie Awards.

For stylist Danielle Whiteman, the trend may be gaining momentum.

“Vintage gowns are hard to come by,” she says. “especially [as] they [tend to be] It’s a very small size, because the size back then was very different than it is now.

Instead, she predicts more celebrities will re-wear the costumes on the red carpet and send positive messages about sustainability. She wore a dramatic white Alexander McQueen dress with a black blazer.

“It’s a very punchy gown and re-wearing something like that is a huge statement.

“Maybe it’s something we care about [in 2023]”
