Storm Reid grew up watching Nia Long on the big screen before working together on new movie Absent.
Reid, 19, told host Janine Rubenstein in the latest episode. people’s daily A film veteran, 52, said he “made me feel so supported and loved” while working on the set of a new film from directors Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick. It was a podcast.
“I knew her because I grew up watching her. [I] Been a fan for a long time,” Reid said on the podcast when asked if he’d met Long before the movie.
“But it’s been great working with her,” the actor continued. “She made me feel so supported and loved on set. We were able to develop a bond and intimacy before Nick made his move.”

Reid said he was “grateful” for the bond he formed with Long while filming the new film, which follows Reid’s character June, who is searching for his mother (Long) after she goes missing while on vacation. Added.
“I’m happy to have her in my corner. She’s the sweetest, the most beautiful. She’s an icon.” [a] Legendary,” Reed added. “It’s really cool to work with really cool people.”
When asked what Long’s “early movies” Reed had seen, the actress said her real-life mother “loves it. [1997’s] love jones.”
“She definitely sat me down and watched love jones, and I thought, oh yeah, this is a good movie,” Reid said. it’s just awesome. ”
Elsewhere on the podcast, Reid said he was taking advantage of her Absent Character June “It wasn’t hard at all”
“She’s a typical teenager trying to figure it out on her journey of self-discovery.
“Thankfully, I’m not in a position where my mother is missing,” Reed said. I would go to the ends of the earth or do whatever it took to keep my parents safe.”
“That’s what June did and she did it in a smart way. I don’t think I could do what June did,” she added.
Absent is currently in theaters.
