The New Braunfels Conservatory of Music will host a series of concerts from January 20th to April 28th, 2023. The concert takes place at 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist, 135 Alves Lane, New Braunfels.

There is no admission fee, but a $20 donation is recommended.

The new year will begin on January 20, 2023 with a solo piano performance by Daria Rabotkina. On February 24th, Chavdar Parashkevav (violin) and Natasha Kislenko (piano) will perform. March 24 Brendan Shay (violin) and Yerin Kim (piano). The final concert of the season will take place on April 28th with Ian Davidson on oboe. Darris Hale on bassoon. And Jason Kwak on piano.

Daria Rabotkina, who was born in a family of musicians in Kazan, Russia and gave her first solo recital at the age of 10, performed for the first time.

Her education began at a professional music school under the guidance of her parents with Nora Kazachkova. She then continued at the Kazan State Conservatory and Mannes College of Music in New York City, where she was under the guidance of Vladimir Feltsman. She studied with Natalia Antonova at the Eastman School of Music and earned her PhD in Musical Arts.

Winner of the 2007 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, Lobotkina has won top prizes in several international competitions and has participated in the White Nights in Russia, Kuhmo in Finland and the Summer Festival in Copenhagen. In the United States, Lobotkina has performed at Lockport Chamber Music, International Her Keyboard Her Institute, New She Paltz’s Piano Summer, and the San Francisco International Piano Festival.

Robotkina has released several CDs. Her first three recordings were made on her CAG Records as part of the Victor Elmaleh Collection. The first recordings are 10 pieces from Tchaikovsky’s Grand Sonata and Prokofiev’s Romeo Band Juliet. Her second CD includes Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations and

Schubert’s musical moments. Rabotkina’s third project included live recordings of three concertos. Her latest CD (MSR Classics) with humoresques by Dvorak, Reger, Rachmaninoff and Schumann was released in 2018 to critical acclaim.

In the fall of 2016, Rabotkina joined the University of Texas Music Facility as Assistant Professor of Piano. She previously taught at the Eastman School of Music while completing her PhD.She also gave master classes, private lessons and lectures

at the Kazan State Conservatory. Out of her early passion for piano teaching, Rabotkina founded her FunKey piano project in Texas in 2018.

As a full-time working parent, she finds spending time with her family her greatest joy and enjoys painting, collecting misspelled names for her name, and devouring English murder mysteries.

Plan now to enjoy an entertaining night of musical wonder at at least one of our upcoming concerts in 2023.
