Shreyas Talpade recalled working with Naseeruddin Shah on the 2005 film Iqbal. The actor said he was nervous before starting filming Nagesh Kukunoor’s film, and how the director warned him about Naseruddin’s “disposition” before filming. In a new interview, Shreyas Talpade reflected on having a “great time” filming Iqbal with Naseeruddin where he had breakfast, played Scramble and went out to dinner. However, it did not start out like this between the two as Nagesh told Shreyas that Naseruddin Shah was “a bit capricious” and could get angry easily.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama about Iqbal’s first day on set, Shreyas said: You feel you can’t talk to him, don’t worry, just come and tell me, I will handle it. Theater kiya hai nah? Woh samajh mein aata hai. Acha suno main ek baat tumhe batana chahta hoon. Yeh Nagesh thoda Tempamental hai. Agar gussa karein toh mujhe batana. It’s showing in your acting.I want to talk about Nagesh’s temperament.If he gets upset and angry, come and tell me.I’ll handle it).(Iqbal’s) One of them was talking about it until the shooting was over.”

Shreyas further described his experience with Naseruddin, saying in Hindi: Please post a shoot when I met him in Pune when he was a visiting lecturer at his FTII (The Film and Television Institute of India). ”
Iqbal was widely praised by critics and well received by audiences. He won Best Supporting Actor for Naseruddin Shah in 2007. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues. Shreyas also won an award – Zee Cine Award for Best Actor Male. Speaking about Iqbal in a 2018 Hindustan Times interview, Shreyas said, “My life has completely changed. Whatever I am today, I owe it to this film. It helped me get to where I am today.” I have.”
