Shilpa Shirodkar says Anil Kapoor helped shoot the movie and showed the pictures to the director | Bollywood

Actor Shilpa Shirodkar recalled how he helped Anil Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty find jobs in the 1990s. In a new interview, Shilpa said that she started appearing in Telugu films after Anil Kapoor took her photo album and showed it to producers and directors. Shilpa made his debut in Ramesh Sippi’s film Brashtacha (1989) alongside Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha. She starred opposite Anil Kapoor in the 1990 hit film Kishen Kanhaiya.

In an interview with The Times of India, Shilpa said: The entire industry, the co-stars, the director, the producers, the crew, the lovely technicians all played an important part in all the work I’ve done. I remember there was a Telugu movie casting in the 90s and Anil Kapoor was shooting in Hyderabad. He actually carried around my photo album and showed it to the producer and director.

“Mithun Da was the reason I worked in this industry. When I lost to Suten Ki Betty and Bonnie Kapoor’s then-titled Jungle, the industry dismissed me as a jinx. It was Dada who gave me a role in Brastacher and my work, starting this amazing industry journey,” she added. Souten Ki Beti (1989), directed by Saawan Kumar, starring Jeetendra, Rekha and Jaya Prada.

Shilpa has acted in many films during his career of over ten years in the Hindi film industry. The actor appeared in Trinetra and Hum (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Aankhen (1993), Pehchaan (1993), Gopi Kishan (1994), Bewafa Sanam (1995) and Mrityudand (1997). She decided to quit her acting after her marriage and her last film appearance was the 2000 film Gajagamini.

Fans have seen Shilpa in several serials such as Ek Mutthi Aasmaan (2013–2014), Silsila Pyaar Ka (2016) and Savitri Devi College & Hospital (2017–2018). Shilpa is the younger sister of former actor Namrata Shirodkar. She tied the knot with banker Aparesh Ranjit in her 2000. They have a daughter, Anushka, who welcomed her in December 2003.
