Sanam Saeed, who made waves in the entertainment world with the hit drama Zindagi Gulzar Hai, said Pakistanis grew up in Bollywood, but Indians don’t know much about Pakistani culture.
In an interview with The Indian Express, Sanam spoke about how Pakistani generations perceive Indian culture. grew up in Bollywood.From our grandparents to us, we know from Madhubala, Kareena Kapoor’s to current Deepika Padukone.We have seen all generations.” We literally grew up consuming Bollywood, singing, dancing, culture, the way they eat, the way they do puja.We know what’s going on in India.But India I don’t know what’s going on in Pakistan.”
She added, “Indians don’t know how we eat and how we spend our time. We know the difference between Indian choti (braids), but I don’t think Indians know what a Pakistani choti looks like. When ZEE Zindagi was launched, India knew, ‘Oh, this is how they dress, this is how they interact’. It was interesting to watch.
