Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza are one of the most beloved couples in the Hindi film industry. They met while filming their debut film Tujhe Meri Kasam. Initially, Generia thought of him as a spoiled brat, bearing in mind the fact that Lightsh was the then-Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the late Sri Vilasrao. He was the son of Deshmukh.
With this preconceived notion, 16-year-old Generia arrived at the Hyderabad airport before filming began. It was there that she first met 25-year-old Riteish. Lightsh, however, was surprised by her strange behavior during their first meeting.
But little did Genelia D’Souza know that her opinion of him would soon change for the better. She found the Raibari actor to be a very humble person and respectful to everyone on the set of Tujemerika Sam. The point was how polite he was to his parents. And her supposition that he was a rude person was soon proved false. And that was what Generia liked most about him.
Soon Riteish and Genelia were spending more time on set. Riteish is also a professional architect, so we both talked a lot about architecture between shots. Tujhe Meri Kasam was a box office success and Riteish was nominated for the Most Promising Debut Actor category at the Screen Awards. Genelia was also nominated in the Most Promising Debuting Actress category.
Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s friendship quickly turned into love. And after 9 years of dating, they finally tied the marriage knot on February 3, 2012. The couple currently have two sons, Riaan and Rahyl.
