Wearing popular danceable tracks like “TWIST & TURN” and “ALL I NEED,” fans know exactly what to expect when Popcaan and Drake get together. Their latest release “We Caa Done” is no exception.
The dancehall prodigy hinted at his and Drizzy’s new cut in a preview snippet on Instagram on Wednesday (January 4th), revealing cover art for his upcoming fifth studio album. he is great Via OVO Sound shows the Jamaican artist in a 19th century thread with a pensive look. “New year, new gear, new blessings, new money, new music! #GIHE,” the caption read.
“We Caa Done” was co-produced by TRESOR and Batundi and directed by OVO mainstay Theo Skudra, and was shot in beautiful island scenery in the Turks and Caicos Islands. “‘We Caa Done’ is all about patience,” Popcaan said in a statement. “We’re not thinking about limitations. We’re living the life we’ve dreamed of, and no matter what the haters and naysayers say, we’ll only get better.”
Prior to the Drake-assisted single, Popcaan dropped the single “Set It” and the love song “Next to Me” featuring Tong Anh Singh in preparation for their next album.
Popcaan enjoyed success with their last three albums, all of which peaked at number three. billboard US reggae chart.
The music video may have been filmed in August when Drake and Popcaan went on a boys’ trip to the Turks and Caicos with fellow artist J. Cole and NBA star Kevin Durant. The crew were seen riding jet skis and posing together by the water during a tropical festival.
