TikTok will overtake Spotify as the powerhouse of music discovery in 2023
With over 1 billion active users in 154 countries, TikTok is growing fast, while Twitter and Facebook are stagnant. This year proved that video-based social media platforms have the power to break music. 10 of the 12 UK singles charting at number one had a viral moment. Spotify is still the dominant streaming platform, but it’s TikTok videos that feed Spotify by connecting people with the songs they love.
