The 79-year-old disco singer cemented her status as a powerful musical icon in 1978 with the breakup anthem “I Will Survive.”

Cyrus released the song on the occasion of her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth’s 33rd birthday. Her fans speculate that this is no coincidence.
In 2019, Cyrus and Hemsworth said they called it quits after less than a year of marriage, ten years after meeting on a movie set. The former couple met in 2009 while filming the Nicholas Sparks movie The Last Song and announced their engagement in 2012.
