With carnival just around the corner, it’s time to dare to dress up and dress up. Whether you’re looking for a couture ball-his gown or a sparkly leotard to wear with his marching crew, you’ll find local manufacturers that bring your vision to life. But beyond Mardi Gras, many of these same makers are busy year-round as traditional fashion designers. It will be held.
Melissa Clarke of sassy lingerie brand EKS is the host of this year’s event. “The show is about bringing the community together to support fashion, art and diversity,” Clark said. , Paris Parker students and volunteers help with hair and make-up.”
She received casting assistance from local agencies such as FT 45 and Chic Nouvelle, as well as set and lighting design by Omega Lighting and Kaz Mir. “We want this event to go beyond the typical Mardi Gras vibe and showcase the extraordinary fashion talent here in New Orleans, and we love that too,” Clark said.
One of the reasons we put together this show is that it is very expensive for a designer to own an independent boutique. “This show gives people a chance to see our clothes first hand and has the potential to grow our consumer products.
Another local designer, Vanshawn Branch, will showcase his menswear brand, Kayie, at the show. “I was drawn to this forum specifically because of its focus on human rights and social justice,” Branch said. Vanshawn is an artist-in-residence at The Salon at Canal Place, and most recently he presented his work at Luna Fete. He plans to soon offer sewing classes for the next generation of craftsmen as well.
