Actually, Maya Rudolph has a big sweet tooth!
On Monday, M&M’s announced that Rudolph, who also hosts Peacock’s, bake it, Starred in a candy brand Super Bowl commercial, replacing the cartoon “spokescandies”.
“I’ve never wanted to be a ‘sweets lady,’ but I think there’s some connection between comfort and joy that I’m really into.” saturday night live Alum tells PEOPLE.
According to M&M’s announcement, Disillusioned Acting as the brand’s “chief of fans,” the actress said, “Using her comedic talents and captivating personality, M&M’s builds on its mission to create a world where everyone feels they belong. I will help you do that.”
For Rudolph, being on television during the big game is very exciting.
“I was already someone who loved watching the Super Bowl because of the ads, so I feel like, ‘Wow, now I get to be a part of that moment!
The actress is especially excited about her four children, Minnie, 9, Jack, 11, Lucille, 12, and Pearl, 17. “They were the first people I spoke to,” she says. “They’re really looking forward to seeing what we’ve done.”
In an announcement shared on M&M’s Instagram page, the brand revealed that Rudolph will replace cartoon candy characters called “spokecandies.”
“Last year we made some changes to our beloved spokescandy. We weren’t sure if anyone would even notice, and we definitely didn’t think it would break the internet. Shoes can be polarizing. Bringing people together through colorful fun was the last thing M&M wanted.

The announcement said there would be a “pause” from Candy’s character.
Viewers of all ages at the Super Bowl (and the Super Bowl ads) will see this as something for Rudolph, who says, “It’s really, really, really exciting to have something become a part of everybody’s life.” Here are some of the more exciting things about the collaboration.

The M&M commercial will air during Super Bowl LVII on February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
