Italian glam rocker Måneskin has previously hinted at a collaboration with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. Now they finally share that track, “GOSSIP.”
First hinted at in December, the project is rockers looking to ring in the new year with their juiciest release yet. “GOSSIP” is in the same vein as Måneskin’s other radio-ready, rock-steady, catchy-core anthems, but this track takes it to the next level with the introduction of Morello’s guitar chops. It is
“This song came out of a riff. [guitarist] thomas [Raggi] It’s something I wrote a while back, something I’ve held onto for a long time, and I’ve been continuing to develop,” explained bassist Victoria de Angelis. “Then the icon Tom Morello joined us and brought something special to the classic uptempo Morneskin gaiety.”
Slurp gossip and drink until you choke/Slurp gossip and burn your throat/You’re not iconic, you’re just like them/Don’t pretend you don’t know, oh…belting the quartet against a Morello-esque ripped arrangement.
“He brought anger to Måneskin!” the band’s drummer Ethan Tokio boasted in a statement.
Vocalist Damiano David added: I can’t thank him enough for participating in this track. An honor for the whole band! “
“Tom is one of the greatest musicians I have ever listened to and learned from,” added Raggi. “Playing with him is a dream come true. It’s a huge gift and a personal highlight of this great year.”
Following previously released singles “The Loneliest”, “Supermodel” and “La Fine”, the new single appears on the band’s long-awaited third album. Hurry up!which is set to drop on January 20.
