Manchester United could make the German Bundesliga attacker the first new arrival in the January transfer window.
MAN UTD Target RB Leipzig Ace
Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo and hope to sign him in January after opening a bid.
Olmo has good pedigree and was through the Barcelona academy before moving to Dinamo Zagreb’s second team in the summer of 2014. He soon joined his senior team and started to shine for Croatia.
Ultimately, it was Leipzig who acquired Olmo in January 2020, paying €20m (£17m at the time) to sign him.
The winger, who also works in central attacking midfield, has been impressive for Germany, scoring 19 goals in 106 appearances and helping Leipzig win the DFB Cup last season. It was their first major trophy.
Olmo’s impressive play at Leipzig also marks his break into the Spanish national team. He has won his 29th cap and scored in his World Cup in Qatar. Spain lost to Morocco in the Round of 16 at this Qatar World Cup.
The attacker’s contract with Leipzig runs until June 2024, and the club faces a big decision on whether to keep him. Big clubs are wary of his situation, and a transfer is now possible this winter.
Bids for Manchester United have been placed, setting the possibility of first signings
according to goalciting a report from Spain, said Manchester United chief John Murtaugh had made an offer for Olmo ahead of a possible January raid. It claims it could cost as much as £10,000.
Manchester United are in need of an attacking signing after Cristiano Ronaldo left in November. Olmo will not be a direct replacement for Ronaldo. Because he prefers to operate from the left or just behind the central striker. One solution is for Eric ten Hag to put Marcus Rashford in front and Olmo right behind.
Manchester United previously faced competition from the 24-year-old Barça. I just did.
Instead, Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich will take on Olmo. They have a history of signing players from Leipzig, such as Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer. To make matters worse for Leipzig, manager Julian Nagelsmann left for Allianz in his July 2021 arena.
Bayern want to repeat these captures by bringing Olmo to Bayern. But as it stands, Man United are chasing him. The fact that they have made a bid means that Olmo could become the first signing of Manchester United’s January window if Leipzig accepts.
And there’s a good chance the deal will go through. Transfermarkt Olmo has a rate of €40m (currently £35.3m). This, coupled with the fact that his contract is expiring, means that Leipzig are more likely to accept offers from Manchester United.
After failing to sign goalkeeper Jan Sommer from the Bundesliga, Ten Hag were able to start January business by acquiring Olmo to move up the forward ranks.
Chelsea want Benfica man at all costs
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have been “claiming” Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez in recent days.
Fernandez has been strongly associated with Liverpool following his World Cup achievements. The 21-year-old helped Argentina lift the golden trophy and was named the best young player of the tournament.
Liverpool are watching Fernandes. They believe he would be a great signing to solve the midfield problem. Nor have you agreed to comply with the terms of the release of Pound).
With Fernandes nearing a deal with one of his Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool appear to be paying the price for their hesitation.
The Blues struggled to secure pole position for Argentina on 30 DecemberThey’re even willing to make Jack Grealish the most expensive player in Prem’s history before he moves to Manchester City for £100 million.
Romano provided an update on Fernandez’s situation on Monday night. he tweeted: “Chelsea are still insisting on Benfica today to find a solution to the deal with Enso Fernandes. [Benfica President] Rui Costa decides
Romano added that Fernandez has agreed personal terms with Chelsea for a week. He is clearly delighted with his move to Stamford Bridge and is waiting for Benfica to sell him.
As Romano says, the decision is ultimately up to Costa. Benfica have taken a tough stance on Fernandes staying, even issuing a statement refuting his claims that he could be allowed to leave.
However, Benfica could be sold if Fernandes’ release clause is met. Chelsea are willing to pay, so a deal is likely in January.
The 10-cap international significantly strengthens Graham Potter’s midfield ranks. He has competed with the likes of Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Conor Gallagher, N’Golo Kante and Dennis Zakaria.
Atlético Madrid conspiracy talks Leicester transfer talks
La Liga’s Atletico Madrid want to discuss prospects with Leicester City Kagler Soyunk According to Romano, he will be moving in this winter.
Soyuncu enjoyed a top campaign for Leicester in 2019-20, making 34 appearances in the Premier League and helping the Foxes to a fifth-place finish. They also reached the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, losing to Aston Villa.
Soyunk was Leicester’s surprise package that year. He broke into the starting lineup and remained there throughout the campaign, putting in solid performances.
However, he suffered a serious injury early in the following season, which marked the beginning of his downfall.
Since then, centre-backs have been largely unreliable. Last season he made some big mistakes and Leicester dropped to his eighth place.
Soyuncu has fallen out of Brendan Rodgers’ plans after making just one league appearance this season. And it looks like the January exit is beckoning.
Atleti wants to take advantage of this situation by bringing the Turks to Spain. Manager Diego Simeone must feel he can get Soyuncu back to top form.
According to Romano’s recent tweet, Atleti aim to sign Soyuncu this monthHis contract expires at the end of the season, so they believe it will be at a discounted price.
Soyuncu has already agreed to join the Spanish team on a free transfer this summer. However, Atleti want to negotiate a transfer with Leicester within the current window to improve Simeone’s defense.
Negotiations between the two clubs will begin soon. Ultimately, the decision rests with Leicester. It might be a good idea to sell Soyunku now so they can get some money back for him.
The only problem with doing this is that you run the risk of being underprotected. Leicester’s season will be threatened if some of Rodgers’ other center halves are injured after Soyunk’s departure.
