At EBONY’s Power 100 gala, staff photo director Keith Major’s celebrity portraits were one of the highlights of the evening. At the 2022 event, some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and brand leadership members of his team stopped to take portraits with the acclaimed Lensman. “I think my favorite thing to shoot is beauty and portraiture,” he says.
Always pushing the envelope in his second year bringing the EBONY Power 100 photo studio to life, the Brooklyn native shot nearly 100 portraits of EBONY staff, presenters and celebrity guests in one night. Some of this year’s notables include Power 100 host Amber Ruffin, Entertainment Powerhouse winner Quinta Brunson, Icon Award winner Spike Lee, and Social Justice Award winner Wanda Cooper. Jones and Tamika Palmer, actors Jonathan Majors, Bianca Lawson and Meagan Good.

The acclaimed lensman behind EBONY’s groundbreaking monthly cover shoot, Major is known for his nuanced portraits of people of color, images that make his subjects look like they’re in real life. is creating Lensman recently made history with the brand’s November/December 2022 Digital His Cover His Experience, capturing the cast of Marvel.
