Following on from one of the blockbuster films of 2022, ‘Kashmir Files’, Vivek Agnihotri’s next film is ‘Vaccine War’ based on India’s fight against Covid-19. After Anupam Kher was revealed to be the first actor in the cast, the filmmakers announced on Friday 13 January that Sapthami Gowda has joined the film.
The actress gained national recognition after appearing in Kantara, another blockbuster movie of the year directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty. It was her second film after making her acting debut in Popcorn Monkey Tiger.
On Friday, Hate Story’s director took to his Twitter account to say, “I’m so happy @i_ambuddha to cast India’s youngest and very talented actor @gowda_sapthami in #TheVaccineWar. Our aim is to help the world It is to provide a platform for all talented actors in all over India.” The actress also tweeted, “I am happy and excited to be part of this project! Quoting her, Vivek tweeted, “Welcome Saptami. Your role in #TheVaccineWar will touch many hearts.”

Speaking to DNA India of the immense love the actress received for Kantara, she said: But she’s really proud to be a part of this film. When I reached this scale today, I am actually very grateful.
The Vaccine War is set to release in 11 languages in cinemas around the world on August 15, 2023, India’s Independence Day. The film will collide with Ranbir Kapoor-starring crime thriller Animal at the box office and hits theaters on August 11th. Although not announced, Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadahl 2’ will reportedly be released on the same day as Animal.
