Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, doesn’t deny that she enjoys a huge ‘privilege’ amidst the ‘Nepo Baby’ fuss.
The 21-year-old model, who followed her mother, Cindy Crawford, 56, into the modeling industry, has admitted that her career has helped, but insisted that acting is all her business.
In the February issue of Elle magazine, she explained why she wasn’t chosen for the on-screen job because of her famous mother. It’s not how art is made, it’s art that interests me.
“Yes, nepotism is pervasive, but if that is really what people think, I think we will see more of it.”
Amid growing criticism of Hollywood, Broadway and the music industry, which is increasingly filled with children of the showbiz elite including Lily Collins, Emma Roberts, Colin Hanks and Lily Rose, ‘Elvis’ actor Austin Kaia, who is dating Butler, 31, told Depp, Margaret Qualley, Maud Apatow, Maya Hawke, Lourdes Leon, and Leni Klum.
She added to Elle: Just the fact that I have a really great source of information and someone who can give me great advice alone makes me feel very lucky.
“My mother used to joke all the time, ‘If I could call a Chanel campaign and book it, it wouldn’t be for you, it would be for me.'”
“But I also met some great people through my mom who I now work with.”
Kaia said of the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Mrs. American Pie” featuring Carol Burnett, “No one wants to work with someone who is annoying, not easy to work with, and not kind.”
She continues:
Kaia added some of the advice Cindy gave her: Take the time to learn people’s names and be nice to everyone. If you don’t feel grateful or happy to be there, there’s someone for you. ”
she says:
“Another thing she said to me was, ‘I wish I had written more,’ because I think I’ll remember these wonderful moments forever. One day, on which shoot it will be.” , it becomes difficult to even know where it was done and when.So I wrote it down.I kept a journal.”
New York Magazine ran a cover story in December about online outrage over Nepo Baby’s dominance in the entertainment business. Dakota Johnson (whose parents are Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith) is one of her main faces in the piece.
