When Josh Duggar was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison, critics were happy to predict he wouldn’t do well behind bars.
However, early reports from inside indicated that Josh was enjoying a surprisingly peaceful life at Seagoville FCI, leaving many unhappy.
Reports from behind the prison walls indicate that Josh enjoyed a lovely holiday season complete with sumptuous meals (by prison standards) and movie nights.
But have you ever seen In the Shawshank Redemption We know that an inmate’s quality of life in prison is highly dependent on the strength of their bond with their fellow inmates.

Also, according to a new report from The Marshall Project, Josh has trouble forming lasting friendships behind bars.
One inmate told the outlet that Josh enjoyed an early period of popularity because celebrities aren’t often seen at the Texas Federal Correctional Facility.
“We occasionally catch high-profile people at this facility. Duggar’s case seems exactly like any other celebrity,” the prisoner said.

“Some people think they know you because you were on TV. Everyone wants to talk to you.”
An anonymous inmate adds that Josh wisely didn’t try to play the role of a celebrity.
After all, in Seagoville, he’s just another prisoner in the same uniform, with the same schedule, and with the same restrictions as the other prisoners.

“He said he was just a normal nice guy, but everyone was trying to talk to him, so my friend was waiting his turn.
“It’s different when you come across celebrities who aren’t trying to build their own brand because they’re not trying to build their own brand in prison.”
So it seems that Josh never encountered any violence during his time in She’s Govil. This seems to have been his greatest fear before reporting to the facility.

“Shegoville is notoriously unsafe and not known for its violence against inmates, but it happens,” an insider told In Touch ahead of Josh’s transfer.
“And he’s trying to reach out to something his fellow criminals and inmates despise: a child sex offender. Nobody feels sorry for him.”
However, while Josh’s celebrity status may alienate him somewhat from the public, due to his criminal nature, he doesn’t seem to be targeted.

That could be the result of a judge’s decision to send Josh to Seagoville instead of any other federal agency he could have chosen.
Shegoville has a higher rate of sex offenders than most prisons and boasts one of the top treatment programs in the country.
So while Josh’s crimes may be highly offensive, he’s surrounded by other sex offenders.

So I think Josh’s situation is lonely, but it’s not that bad.
I can only hope that his situation will get worse soon.
