She attended Jill’s baby shower. That act alone could have been seen as mild defiance in the eyes of Jim Bob and Michelle.

At least not in a photo uploaded to Instagram by “notorious” Duggar’s cousin Amy Dillon King.
Fans were quick to speculate that Jessa was already on thin ice by attending, and didn’t want to face the cold shoulder and harsh words from her parents.
Jessa confirmed on social media that she attended Jill’s baby shower.
She also expressed dissatisfaction with the way people thought that her absence from the picture implied some kind of drama.
It’s certainly possible that she simply didn’t feel like making an appearance on social media that day. So… maybe that was it.
For years, Jill and her husband, Derrick Dillard, have been at odds with Jim Bob and Michelle over faith issues and money issues.
Jill has an enormous amount of trauma to deal with from growing up in an abusive and toxic cult. She, like everyone else, deserves a better parent than Jim Bob or Michelle.
And Derrick accused Jim Bob of pocketing all the money from his family’s former reality TV career. It is said that he made the rest of them feel that it was a form of religious service.
Jessa spending time with Jill (and Amy) like that… isn’t a declaration of war, but it did raise questions.
We all know Josh Duggar’s crimes, especially those that led to his arrest and conviction, caused tension in the family.
Jim Bob covered up teenage Josh’s crimes and had Josh’s victims, his daughters, try to sugarcoat things. So… is Jessa totally making out with Jim Bob and Michelle? No one could reasonably blame her.
Earlier this week, James Duggar shared a boomerang on his Instagram story.
A short video revealed Jessa, her husband, Ben Seewald, and their two children sitting at a table.
This was more than just a dining table. We all recognize the Duggar home, even if a family like Jana doesn’t look like a family dinner.
James even detailed that this was a “family night.”

Jessa and her toxic parents seem to be more or less okay. But at least she gets to spend time around her brother without a chaperone, can you say the same for Jill?
