Thoughts and prayers poured out for Jeremy Renner, both in and out of Hollywood, on Monday after the “Hawkeye” star was seriously injured in a freak snowplow accident.
“My heart goes out to @JeremyRenner,” James Gunn, director of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, posted on Twitter Monday afternoon.
The 51-year-old Marvel Universe star was reportedly injured Sunday after a large snowplow he was using on his northern Nevada property broke down and tripped.
According to reports, he lost a “serious” amount of blood in the incident, and neighbors had to apply a tourniquet before an airlift came to retrieve him.
Messages soon began pouring in wishing him well, including from “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” actor Robert Patrick.
“Sending thoughts and prayers for @JeremyRenner!” Patrick, who co-starred with Renner in the 2014 movie Kill the Messenger, tweeted.
Another Renner, who co-starred in his 1995 film debut, National Lampoon’s Senior Trip, also spoke up.
“My sweet @Jeremy Renner. Loved you for decades. From Senior Travel #MCU‘, actress Tara Strong tweeted, along with a photo of the two in the film. “Sending you and your closest healing love, light and strength for complete recovery.”
Fans also expressed words of support and fear over what happened.
“I can’t imagine the pain,” tweeted Twitter user @lowymatt1211, posting a photo of a snowplow model running over Renner’s feet.
“The entire MCU galaxy is thinking and praying for him, and we hope that a healthy recovery will occur,” said @lowymatt1211.
The sentiment was shared by actor Josh Gad.
“Oh my god,” Gadd tweeted. “Praying for @JeremyRenner and his family.”
