Isla Fisher is heartbroken over the death of her father, Brian.
The 46-year-old ‘Nocturnal Animals’ actress announced the news on her Instagram page on Sunday (22.01.23) questioning how people can continue to live with people who ‘can’t live without you’ I thought.
Along with a photo of her father, Isla said:
“How lucky I am to have had you as my father. You were cheerful, positive, and my best friend. I asked him if he was enjoying himself.
“I know this pain will get worse with each passing day since I last saw you, and it’s very scary.
“I love you so much. Thank you for being the best father you can be.”
Isla was born in Muscat, Oman to Elspeth Reed and Scottish Brian Fisher.
Her father was working as a banker for the United Nations in Oman at the time. Ira and her family moved back to her hometown of Bathgate, Scotland before moving to Perth, Western Australia when she was six years old.
The actress, who has four siblings, later said she had a “great” childhood in Perth with a “very outdoorsy” lifestyle.
Famous friends of the actress who shared their sympathies in the comments section of an Instagram post about her father’s death included 54-year-old actress Naomi Watts.
She said: “I’m sorry Isla. This is heartbreaking news. I know how close you were. Sending great love.”
Actress Gal Gadot, 37, added: I’m sure you are proud of him. he sends a big hug.
Model Helena Christensen, 54, wrote, “My dearest friend, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful dad. Sounds like he was the best dad ever, but I know how hurtful this can be.” Sending you the love of
Isla, who has three children with her comedy husband of 51 years, Sacha Baron Cohen, posted a tribute to her father on Instagram last year.
Along with a black-and-white photo of her father, she wrote, “This is my father, Poppa Fish.
“I love him. He’s the best and I’m so grateful to have him in my life.”
