Frank Horvat was one of the world’s greatest fashion photographers. He elevated the medium to a high art form, transforming the way we think about fashion with his thoughtful photography.
His latest masterpieces can now be seen in a solo exhibition at the Leica Galerie Wetzlar in Wetzlar, Germany, which opens on February 3rd and runs until April 30th.an exhibition called Please Don’t Smilewhat he says to his subject before taking a portrait.
This exhibition focuses on fashion photography from a photographer with a 70-year career. He showed the world that fashion photography is more than just a way to sell purses.
Horvat is known for his fashion photography, Vogue, Elle When Harper’s BazaarBased in Paris, he captured Paris in all its romantic glory, from foggy night scenes to unconventional shots of the Eiffel Tower.
And yes, he owns a Leica camera and was introduced to the brand by friend and fellow photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson (who now has his own eponymous museum in Paris).
