In-Home Concerts, a committee of the Fountain Hills Civic and Cultural Association, announces the first concerts of the 2023 season.
The Sahana Brothers Trio will perform on Sunday, January 22nd from 4-5:30pm. Fusing the sounds and rhythms of native Greek culture with the warm and inviting romance of Spanish classical guitar, brothers Tano and Demitri Sarnath have created magical music. Intimate Mediterranean style, according to the organizers.
Many fans of Sahnas may wonder how two Greek brothers, who grew up playing traditional Greek instruments, developed an affinity for Spanish music.
“When my father’s parents came over from Greece, they settled in Arizona, but many of my mother’s relatives lived south of the border,” said Demitri. Over time, my uncle taught us Latin rhythms and flamenco music.”
The Spanish guitar duo will be joined by harpist Lauren Ford Sarnath. Ford Sahnas began learning piano at the age of four and discovered the harp at age seven. She soon began performing throughout Michigan, where she currently tours and performs with her husband Sano on “He Said… She Said…”.
In-Home Concerts is a 501(c) program and a board of the Fountain Hills Civic and Cultural Association.
