Heron Preston is set to debut at New York Fashion Week on the Fall/Winter 2023 runway in February 2023. WWD.
The designer, who graduated from New York’s Parsons School of Design in 2007 and has lived in the city for almost 20 years, has never had a fashion show on the official calendar of America’s fashion capital. He hosted a joint collection presentation with the New York City Department of Sanitation in 2016, but like other American designers, he eventually decided to do a show in Paris starting in 2017. .
CFDA CEO Steven Kolb said: “Heron’s homegrown talent has been showcased on the international stage and we are thrilled to have him here and form part of the collective strength of the American collection next month.” .”
Preston revealed that the upcoming collection will include pieces that “feel very New York” and signature iconography that “reflects the city,” according to the outlet. Additionally, the designer has confirmed that he will be presenting a new version of his collaboration with 3D-printing his sneakers with Zellerfeld, inspired by ‘found objects’ that hold references to Americana, such as varsity jackets and denim.
