Hed Mayner’s Fall/Winter 2023 runway collection goes down to the basics, this time focusing on dominant traditional silhouettes brought to life by classic tailoring.
Unlike previous collections, where oversized proportions were the mainstay and focus, this season featured balanced mechanics and proportions. It has come to be treated more like a second skin than a coat. The piece retains its box-cut nature with undefined curves, giving it a quintessential winter look. Baggy pants and a tight blazer Match it with large shoes to create a dynamic movement.
This collection takes into account the idea of a boy wearing the clothes of his grandfather and father. A borrowed feel evokes a youthful ideal in the collection. From voluminous overcoats to high-waisted trousers to cropped formal double-breasted his jackets carved into his coats, proportions are reduced to accommodate a youthful aesthetic.
A Reebok collaboration was also announced this season, including the co-branded Classic Leather Sneaker. This sneaker is washed and bent into a shape that features a flat toe line. The two tracksuits were designed to mimic the wrinkled texture and fuse the shape of SS23’s blouse with his Reebok signature motif.
