Indianapolis (Wish) – Hosted by Emmy Award-winning TV anchor Hwang Chung Stinger. Inaugural Gala Friday, January 27 at Lucas Oil Estate in Indianapolis for her nonprofit grit and grace. Kayla Sullivan, Special Content Creator for WISH-TV, interviewed Stinger on All Indiana and Lifestyle Live Monday about the program and an upcoming fundraiser in Indianapolis.
Grit and Grace inspires middle school girls to lead with courage through exposure to successful female mentors and Western sports. Professional bull riding and participation in Western sports are not mandatory for young women, but the activity serves as a metaphor for the program.
“Like a bull-rider riding a bull, they can be crushed and trampled, but they can fight to get up and fight to win,” Stinger said. “Whatever your background, whatever your experience in life, as a young woman you need to have the courage to never give up.”
The Grit and Grace program invites attendees to PBR events, gives them a VIP experience, and shows them what it’s like to fight for excellence.

Each year, the Foundation awards a $10,000 scholarship to one girl who best demonstrates her ability to lead in all things with courage, grit, and integrity. Crosslyn Garcia wins a $10,000 scholarship at the 2022 Grit & Grace Leadership Scholarship Girl of the Year. Garcia said she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was just seven days old, but she’s still holding on.
