Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Music Office (TMO) and Visit Galveston will co-host a Music Friendly Community Workshop in Galveston on Wednesday, January 18th. We look forward to the participation of musicians, venues and the general public.
“Music is key to Texas brands and the local economy,” said Abbott. “Thank you to the Texas Music Authority for helping communities large and small create creative partnerships and create new jobs. We look forward to making sure you have the tools you need to do your job.”
Chip Adams, TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist, will join the workshop to explain the Music Friendly Community designation and answer questions.
Participation in TMO’s Music Friendly Communities Program provides communities in Texas with a network to foster the development of the music industry and is committed to helping accredited communities attract and develop the growth of the music industry. Send a clear message to industry professionals that you are The Galveston workshop is the first step in the certification process. Upon completion, Galveston will join more than 35 other Texas cities that have earned the Music Friendly designation.
