New York’s promising first season under Brian Dabor ended disappointingly with a crushing 38-7 loss to rival Eagles in the NFC Division Round on Saturday night.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles pounced on the Giants early on, often with back-to-back scoring drives, to start the team’s fifth meeting in the postseason. Dallas Goudart and Devonta Smith caught two touchdown passes on the drive.
Daniel Jones struggled to keep up with an excellent defense throughout the game. Philadelphia’s constant passing his rush accounted for his five sacks, and Jones threw his passes under 150 yards. Jones also threw his first postseason interception to former giant, James Bradbury, to continue the Phillies’ onslaught in the first half.
After making tremendous progress throughout the regular season, the Giants quarterback completed 15 of 27 passes for 135 yards and a passer rating of 53.6. New York’s top offensive weapon other than Jones wasn’t all that great either.
Saquon Barkley had 11 successful attacks for 82 yards and scored no goals.
Losing 28–0 after the first half, the Giants continued with a 10-play, 88-yard drive that was capped off by a run by Matt Brieda to cut the deficit to 21. The Eagles rushed for 268 total yards and three scores on the ground.
The loss in Philadelphia was the Giants’ 10th straight loss against their NFC East rivals. The last time they won the City of Brotherhood was in 2013.
The Giants’ season ends with a record of 10-8-1 in their first season under Brian Dabor. Philadelphia will play his game for his second NFC title at home on his FOX next Sunday.

- The Giants rushed for over 100 yards and scored a touchdown. His 5.9 yards per carry is the most the Eagles have given up in a game since his early November.
- New York’s 2022-23 season may be over, but there are some offseason questions surrounding Daniel Jones, Barkley and many of the other top players and teams who will be free agents once the season is over.
- Jalen Hurts had nearly 200 total offensive yards and three touchdowns. Philadelphia outscored the Giants 68-7 in the first half, largely thanks to Hearts’ combinations. New York lost to the Phillies in all three of his contests in the 2022-23 season.
