BBC Broadcasts first appeared on Consequence after Genesis announced their career-spanning boxset.
Genesis chronicles 30 years worth of BBC performances with upcoming box set. The 53-track collection will be released on March 3rd.
Curated by founding member Tony Banks and the group’s longtime engineer and producer Nick Davis, BBC broadcast Recordings from 1970 to 1998, featuring all three Genesis vocalists (Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and Ray Wilson).
Among the recordings are an early appearance on the BBC’s Genesis. night ride John Peel radio shows, performances at the 1978 and 1982 Knebworth Festivals, and gigs at London’s Lyceum and Wembley Stadium. All this music is accompanied by his 40-page booklet containing notes from author Michael Hann.box set is available in 5 CD and 3 LP formats, the first of these tracks to be released on vinyl. Advance reservations are being accepted.
Last year, Genesis played their final show at London’s O2 Arena, and although original singer Peter Gabriel didn’t perform, he attended the show to cheer on his former bandmates.
