On the international stage, Gabi played for the Spanish national team. He first represented the country at the under-15, under-16 and under-18 levels. He will be promoted to senior in 2021 and will make his first appearance in the UEFA Nations League. Appearing in the semi-finals of Spain’s win over Italy, he became the youngest ever footballer to represent Spain at senior level. Ultimately, Spain lost to France in the final. Gabi, who rejoined the Nations in his league in 2022, achieved another milestone when he became the youngest player ever to score a goal for Spain at his senior level.
