Former Miami Heat No. 1 draft pick, Michael Beasley has had a solid career during his 11 years in the NBA.
Now he has moved into the fashion business. Beasley recently spoke to Inside The Heat about his new clothing line, “Easy Street.”
“It’s an Easy Street brand. It’s an Easy Street family brand,” says Beasley.
Beasley played twice with the Heat (four seasons total) and helped the Heat reach three playoff appearances. He said the clothing line was a branch of his upbringing in Maryland.Beasley had a tough childhood until he received the No. 2 pick in 2008.
“The logo is literally my face,” Beasley said. It feels like everyone in the world can draw stick figures, right? Circles and dots, dots, whatever. If you sit there and draw stickman emotions, they all look the same, like flat eyes. So a flat eye representing my lazy eye and an X representing that I survived it all. Keep smiling through it.
Beasley said the apparel line should be released in the next few weeks.
“It was supposed to be released earlier this year,” he said. “What we were aiming for was to do a soft drop in July, and then let’s get ready for the big three. I don’t want to give a specific date or miss a deadline, but it’s definitely the top thing I want to do this year.”
