A preliminary report from the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia said that when Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, 10 people were found on his body after conducting an “initial forensic examination.” It was determined that there was a different substance.
Urine toxicology tests showed the presence of “THX (marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, opioids, and more,” an office statement said.
The department added that it would “continue to investigate and formally notify the results of the forensic examination in a timely manner.”

Hawkins, who is survived by his wife, Alison, and their three children, joined fellow musicians on stage to honor him at a moving six-hour tribute concert in September.
