Florence Pugh has some thoughts on why so many people reacted so strongly to her relationship with Zach Braff. The pair broke up in 2022 after dating since around 2019. They remain friends and she is also in his upcoming film, A Good Person. However, in her new interview with Vogue, published Jan. 12, Pugh explains how the criticism of their relationship affected her.
“We weren’t in anybody’s face. People just didn’t like it,” Pugh said. Braff is 21 years older than the actor, who was 23 when they started dating. “They envisioned me being with someone who was young and blockbuster. I think young relationships in Hollywood are easily twisted because they add to gossip sites.” is exciting…and I think I was in a relationship that didn’t do anything…that.”
Pugh is still adjusting to not living with Braff and calls the house she used to live in her home. “My breakup was so new that I’m just figuring it out.”
Pugh and Braff hid in that Los Angeles home during the pandemic. Braff’s friend Nick Cordero lived at the guest house with his wife Amanda Kloots and their baby, Cordero eventually died of her COVID-19 and his death by Kloots. The transcript of the story made headlines around the world. Braff said Klotz’s fortitude inspired “good guys”, but he wrote the part specifically for Pugh.
“I think she’s one of the greatest actors of her generation,” he told Vogue of his former partner. It’s not just the beauty, it’s not just her acting ability, it’s that kind of magic that goes with everyone beyond the screen.I want to see.Whatever this person does.”
On Jan. 4, Braff posted a message on Pugh’s 27th birthday, writing on Instagram, “Happy Birthday, Legend.”
Pugh first confirmed her and Braff’s split in August 2022. She said, “I felt there was a benefit to doing something like this that millions of people wouldn’t have to say how happy they were that we weren’t together.”
