The new FiiO K7 desktop amplifier is an affordable way to listen to digital music on headphones. It features a balanced 6-stage audio circuit consisting of twin DACs, low-pass filter, volume control, buffer amplifier, pre-amp and headphone output.
Across this 6-stage signal path, the audio signal from each channel is processed individually by the K7 to reduce crosstalk and make your music sound as good as possible. Thanks to dual THX AAA788+ amplifiers, the K7 has enough power to drive both low and high impedance headphones. High and low hardware gain levels can be manually selected from the front panel, allowing users to easily tune his K7 to their favorite headphones.
Two AKM AK4493SEQ DACs power the FiiO K7’s digital-to-analog conversion stage. This is one for each channel. The K7 can process digital audio files up to 32-bit 384kHz and DSD256 thanks to the dual clock management of the XMOS XUF208 decoding chip. The K7 has USB, optical, coaxial, and analog RCA phono inputs for connecting to a variety of streaming equipment and audio sources. There is a 6.3mm single-ended output and a 4.4mm Pentaconn balanced output for connecting headphones.

The large volume control on the front of the K7 has a ring LED that shows different colors depending on the audio sampling rate received. Below 48kHz, the ring glows blue, sampling rates above 48kHz are yellow, and DSD files are green.
An external 12V power supply powers the K7, and the amplifier’s internal power design architecture consists of multiple independent stages. The voltage of each stage is regulated by a low-noise, low-dropout regulator (LDO). In addition, an intelligent DC protection system prevents K7 from overheating and overloading.
