And that’s why it takes someone with a solid background in fitness to distinguish between the good and the bad. What about an exercise scientist reviewing celebrity workouts? In this case, Mike Israelitel.
Dr. Mike Israetel has a PhD in Sports Physiology and is the co-founder of Renaissance Periodization, a YouTube channel focused on muscle hypertrophy. He is highly regarded by the fitness industry and his community of bodybuilders.
As he first explained, being an exercise scientist is just a title, but he knows more about fitness than most people online at this point.

1. Bradley Martin
Bradley is an incredibly strong player, but the demeaning remarks he makes in the video are “absolute nonsense” according to Israel Tell. This could put his body at a higher risk of injury if he does it like he does in the video.
2. Mark Wahlberg
A famous actor wears Nordic curls, apparently very wrong. “I’d like to see a little more eccentric control from these Nordic curls. That’s the only point of the exercise.”
3. Ben Bruno
In the video, which was posted on Ben Bruno’s Instagram, it’s comedian Chelsea Handler who appears to do a single-legged Romanian deadlift. “Putting your feet on benches that are far apart makes the exercise unnecessarily unstable,” he says Israetel. “If you do these things in what’s called a B-stance, you’ll probably get more.”
4. Dwayne the Rock Johnson
Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, does belt squats with heavy resistance. And The Rock are doing big sets without a break.
Israetel says the exercise has a very small range of motion and can target the adductors but not the quadriceps. “I’d love to see The Rock use about half that weight, or less, and sink three feet lower while keeping his legs a little closer and upright. It burns his legs.
5.Fighting fans
This account shared a video of Steven Seagal fighting two men at the same time. This is one of his most ridiculous videos as it’s clearly not a fight but a choreographed one.
6. Shaquille O’Neal
As a joke, the last celebrity workout on this list of exercise scientist reviews is none other than basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq is a very funny guy and the video being reviewed is of him doing bodybuilding poses.
