hut, texas – EVO Entertainment Group plans to open a new location in Hutto in 2024. The $25 million project is scheduled to break ground in the spring.
EVO Entertainment Founder and CEO Mitch Roberts said:
The venue spans over 53,000 square feet and includes eight theaters, 10 bowling lanes, 7,200 square feet of games and attractions, and food and beverages.
Some Hutto residents say they want entertainment in their own homes.
“I’m excited to have something to do around here. I really hope they get something good because there isn’t much to do other than eat unless you go to Round Rock.” Resident Hannah Lovelace said.
“I think it’s great that Hutto is growing, that we have our own movie theater, and that we don’t have to fight traffic going to Fluggerville and Round Rock,” said resident Norma Ridenour.
Roberts says he grew up in San Marcos and started his company in Kyle.
“Hutto is a great town, growing like a weed, from 1,500 out of 2,000 to over 30,000 today, close to home, a great family community, meets all our criteria. ’ he says. He said.
The venue will be US 79 off near SH 130.
The city says this will be a major economic boost, creating at least 40 full-time jobs.
“It’s actually a huge amount. They’re building a fairly tech-savvy type of building, so not only is there a lot of property tax involved, but the annual property tax is probably $30 million, $4,000. million dollars, including entertainment and sales taxes, related income,” said Bob Farley, the City of Hutt’s director of economic development.
After about six months of work, this will be EVO’s first build from scratch since the pandemic.
“It’s a win-win for citizens and taxpayers,” Farley said.
