Italian fashion house Emporio Armani will be the first to appear on Armani’s roster this season, and its luxury arm, Giorgio Armani, will be exhibiting at Milan Fashion Week later this week. But for the Fall/Winter 2023 show, the youth-focused Emporio Armani sub-labels all look growing.
While the Spring/Summer 2023 collection took attendees on a coastal holiday getaway with a sophisticated collection dubbed ‘Summer Basketful’, FW 2023 featured aircraft references, dinner jackets, and more. , formal and sophisticated streetwear elements. The previous collection was simple and breezy, putting lightweight fabrics at the forefront to offer sleek yet laid-back menswear that took you from the city to the beach in an instant. Rings and cropped button-downs adopted simple graphics for summer, while the vibrant series appeared in neutral tones for everyday wear.
But the Emporio Armani FW23 has taken a different path. While it doesn’t have as many suits and boots as mainline Giorgio Armani, the label did offer a wealth of tailoring. With flight mode on, the model, wearing a leather hood and pilot-his goggles, walked down the runway in his finely tailored Boiler-his suit. Belted at the waist and accented with snap his pockets, the look is reminiscent of good old flying activity.
Similarly, a puffed leather flight jacket with a shearling collar pairs seamlessly with aviator sunglasses, and a cinched waist all-leather belted trench coat top gun aesthetic. A harness running around the model strapped to a cropped leather bomber jacket, a fuchsia cashmere sweater with an airplane propeller on the front, a shirt with a female pilot printed on the chest, and a belt similar to the one worn on an airplane. , breasted blazers with double popper strap square shoulders (reminiscent of military uniforms) all continued the mile-high theme.
The story later grew as formal dinner jackets and nighttime showcases unraveled on the runway. Sheer shirts, neckerchiefs, jackets with satin black lapels paired with his tie, and amethyst sequined blazers all conjure up someone arriving at dinner in style.
Injecting a more youthful edge is the EA 7.0 outerwear range, which consists of a puffer jacket and a burnt orange sleek nylon-like track jacket, printed with an all-over vein structure for a wrinkled effect. I’m here. But it was the all-inclusive format that Emporio proved his Armani could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with his big brother when it comes to his discerning designs.
