Almost a decade after being accused of some pretty abhorrent behavior in her personal life, Ellie Goulding has finally revealed her version of the truth.
And it all goes back to 2013.
On Dec. 31, the singer shared a video to TikTok, dancing to Harry Styles’ hit “As It Was.”
Almost immediately, one fan said, “I can’t believe you killed FR when you had an affair with Neil,” referring to Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan, whom Goulding was romantically linked to years ago. I mentioned
“WRONG!!! But you can also kill,” Golding replied simply.
This exchange and celebrity gossip story may need a refresher.
Golding and Horan first sparked romance rumors after Miller reported that the stars were spotted getting very close and cozy at the V Festival in England in August 2013. sparked.
Just a week later, Goulding was seen with Sheeran.
At the time, Golding and Sheeran were widely assumed to be an item…and the former was caught cheating on Horan with the latter.
“I love that holding hands with our friends means we’re an item,” the artist applauded years ago after the allegations surfaced, adding: Added.

Sheeran, who was a frequent collaborator in Horan’s band One Direction at the time, also spoke about the moment they held hands a month later, telling a Seattle radio station:
“In other words, if you’re just friends, normal people won’t hold hands.”
He appeared to agree with Golding’s explanation of their status and also appeared to accuse her of cheating, adding:
“It used to happen. And now it doesn’t.”
The following year, Sheeran released the song “Don’t”. In this song, she nods about being cheated on by her fellow singers. Many thought the song represented a love triangle between him, Goulding, and Horan.
Golding is married to Casper Jopling and has a son.
Meanwhile, Sheeran confirmed he got married to Cherry Seabornle in July 2019. Her spouse shares two daughters together.
Goulding told ELLE UK in 2014, “I’ve dated Niall a few times, but I’ve never been in a relationship with Ed.
“I have no idea where it came from or how it got to be so big.”
