Founded in 1923 by Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Studio, The Walt Disney Company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023.
The company has grown significantly from just an animation studio to a $160 billion entertainment powerhouse that includes Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, ESPN, ABC, Hulu, Disney+ streaming services and more.
Named Disney100, the company celebrates Walt Disney’s legacy, from new nighttime spectacles at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, to traveling museum exhibits, to a new feature-length animated film dedicated to the animation studio’s legacy. Celebrate the company-wide anniversary.

Disney100 Disneyland and Walt Disney World Celebration
During the Disney 100 announcement, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro described California’s Disneyland Resort as “the heart of the whole celebration.” The Disney 100 celebration at Disneyland will include two new nighttime spectacles, the return of the short parade that debuted just before COVID, and new attractions.
New Disneyland Entertainment will launch on January 27, 2023. Based on the precedent set by other launches, Disneyland tickets and reservations for the day are likely to fill up.
In late 2023, Walt Disney World in Florida will replace the current Harmonious Spectacle at EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon with a brand new nighttime spectacle.
In addition to these big launches, the theme parks will feature new Platinum-inspired park décor, special food and drink, and character experiences, including a special Platinum look for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.Disney said it will continue to add to Walt Disney World’s calendar of events to mark its 100th anniversary.

Walt Disney Animation Studios announces new movie wish At the 2022 D23 Expo as part of the Disney100 celebrations. wish is an original animated musical inspired by Walt Disney Studios’ cinematic legacy, featuring all-new songs by Grammy-nominated artist Julia Michaels. The story looks to the future of the studio, exploring how the “Wishing Star” desired by Disney characters was born.
Featuring a platinum-designed castle, the new studio logo honors the Disney 100 celebration in front of all Disney theatrical and streaming releases. attractions, and a retelling of the Peter Pan story in “Peter Pan and Wendy.”

Disney100: The Exhibition utilizes immersive technology across 10 galleries of the 15,000-square-foot exhibit to display hundreds of objects from the Walt Disney Archives, including more than 250 rarely-seen artworks and artifacts. This is a traveling museum exhibit. Costumes, props, and other memorabilia.
Disney100: The Exhibition takes place February 18, 2023 at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His next two stops on the North American tour are Chicago, Illinois and Kansas City, Missouri. There are also exhibitions in Munich and London.

Many of the merchandise offered at Disney 100 celebrations are inspired by platinum. Disney shared, “Platinum is a rare precious metal known to stand the test of time, just like our beloved Disney characters.” Additional merchandise lines celebrate Disney for decades, and a new book from Disney Publishing offers a fresh take on the company’s history.
