There was a time when Jill Duggar’s family situation must have felt like she was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Simply put, Jill’s father, Jim Bob Duggar, and her husband, Derrick Dillard, didn’t get along.
In fact, the two seem to hate each other, and Derrick was happy to publicly air his grievances against his father-in-law.
To the shock of his followers, Derrick took to Twitter to claim that Jim Bob stole millions of dollars from his own children by pocketing TLC earnings.
Jill’s situation is a lot less complicated these days, but not because Derrick and Jim Bob buried the hatchet.
Instead, Jill has completely cut ties with her parents. This move probably improved her life immeasurably.
Jill and Derrick are now enjoying a peaceful life far from the Duggar dramas that complicate the lives of most of Jim Bob’s descendants.
However, the couple apparently couldn’t resist dipping their toes in that cesspool just long enough to get a subtle shot at the matriarch.
The photo above was posted to Jill’s Instagram story earlier this week.
While it may seem harmless at first glance, some fans believe it’s Dillard’s way of throwing shade at Jim Bob.
“Look at that,” Jill captioned the photo, tagging her husband appropriately.
As reported by British tabloids Sunthe photo was posted in a thread on the r/DuggarSnark subreddit.
It quickly became a hot topic.
“At first, I wasn’t sure if she was confused by the clip-on phone case or the jeans with the ornate pockets, because it confuses both,” one commenter wrote. I’m here.
“How would you know my dad if he didn’t have a giant cell phone holster and a plain white NB?” asked another.
“Nothing is more conservative than a beltphone,” added another.
“Listen, when I bought the rugged Otterbox I got a holster along with the case, but that doesn’t mean you should actually use it, Derrick.”
Yes, a giant phone holster is Jim Bob’s signature accessory, and Jill almost certainly knew her post would be considered a bit of a troll.
But she’s a free woman these days, breaking away from the cunning cult she grew up in, so she shared it anyway.
“Jill stood up very bravely and talked about Jim Bob. It’s very brave when you’re in danger.
“I hope that at some point Jill will tell her story too. I will,” she added.
“She’s really looking for what reality and truth are to make her own decisions and find her own voice.”
Jill’s bravery has earned her many new fans in recent years – but you can be sure that Jim Bob is not one of them!
